Ray Wisniewski
Ray has twenty plus years of association management experience in the Washington, DC area. His skills include marketing, communications, fundraising, member recruitment/retention, membership development and sales. Ray has a reputation as a highly organized association executive with the ability to successfully manage multiple and complex programs concurrently. Through his tenure in the association industry he has been senior staff executive responsible for all areas of management including strategic and tactical marketing for the largest trade association representing manufacturers of electronic security equipment.
Description
Membership organizations are notorious for reacting to reports of stagnant or declining membership counts by hastily throwing together a marketing campaign to “fix” the problem. Marketing membership products is both a science and an art and must be a sustained effort over time. To develop a plan that reaches the appropriate audience, gets their attention, and convinces them to immediately act requires purposeful planning and an understanding of the many marketing strategies available. This Meminar will offer the perspectives of two membership marketing professionals with decades of experience succeeding and failing at membership recruitment. Attendees will come away with an understanding of what type of results to expect from certain marketing strategies, how new technologies have changed traditional marketing strategies, and how membership marketing is different from marketing non-dues products, programs, services, and events.
